We asked Nicole Miller bride, Caroline, what made her big day so special.. She talks decor, details, and why she chose her Nicole Miller gown..
“I always knew that I wanted to wear Nicole Miller– her designs are elegant, beautiful and seem to fit my body just right. The most important aspect that draws me to her designs is the simplicity of the dresses; I don’t think a wedding dress should be a costume.. so I shopped for something that I could envision wearing to an event in another color. I ultimately fell in love with the one shoulder gown with a kimono sleeve and made it my own by creating a cap sleeve and adding a hook for a simple bustle.
My husband, Steve, and I were married on March 9th at the Carnegie Institution for Science, a beautiful neoclassical space in the heart of DC. We wanted to create a really fun evening for our family and friends, a nod to tradition that wasn’t too constrained by conventions achieved by mixing creative and traditional elements. With the help of my childhood minister officiating and fun details like our gourmet wedding doughnuts (in lieu of cake), I think we achieved that. -Caroline”
